Saw Palmetto

Saw palmetto had been traditionally used in Europe to treat beningn prostatic hyperplasia.

The fat-soluble extract of Saw Palmetto is useful in BPH. Saw Palmetto is efficient, well tolerated and provides considerable relief in BPH. Saw Palmetto decrease urinary urgency, increases the urinary flow rate, reduces the uncomfortable urination symptoms and has flow sexual complaints.

Selenium

L -Selenomethionine is the most bioavailable form of Selenium. In L-Selenomethionine, selenium is a part of Methionine, in the place of sulfur. This natural amino acid is better absorbed and tolerated than inorganic selenium (Sodium selenite).

Selenium strengthens the activity of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. National Cancer Institute, USA, has selected l-Selenomethionine for a 12-year clinical study on prostate cancer. Clinical studies correlate health status and general well being with the blood levels of selenium.

Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate

Vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin discovered in 1922, is a powerful antioxidant where it halts the free radical chain reaction by neutralizing the free radicals in the lipid compartment of the body. Besides its antioxidant action, Vitamin E improves heart and muscle activity, improves stamina and endurance, acts as anti aging agent, improves blood picture, hastens wound healing and improves diabetes.

Vitamin E protects cells from free radical induced cell damage, and thus, cancers including prostate cancer.

Lycopene

One important natural substance that can reduce the risk of prostate cancer is lycopene – a carotenoid abundant in tomatoes. Carotenoids are natural pigments. They are responsible for the orange red colour of popular foods likes oranges, tomatoes and carrots. Carotenoids also impart yellow colour to flowers. Carotenoids have the property of quenching and neutralising free radicals. This is called the antioxidant property of carotenoids. Free radicals are a chemical species produced continuously in the blood. Excess amount of these highly reactive and highly unstable chemical species cause damage to cell membranes, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and nucleic acids in the body. Excess free radicals are produced due to smoking, drugs, pollutants, over exposure to sunlight and tissue injury. Thus, excess free radicals are implicated in degenerative illnesses, inflammatory conditions, aging and cancers including prostate cancer.

Piperine (Bioperine â )

Piperine is a patented product consisting of the powdered extract obtained from Piper nigrum. Piperine extract is standardized for a minimum of 98% of the alkaloid piperine.
