Soy Isoflavones

Soyabeans are a good source of Soy Isoflavones. Soyabean is popular in China and Japan where soya is a daily source of nutrition. Soya is considered very healthy due to the presence of isoflavones. The two main beneficial isoflavones are daidzein and genistein. These isoflavones are also known as phytoestrogens. They are similar in structure to the female hormone estrogen. Isoflavones have anticarcinogenic, antiangiogenic and estrogenic effects. Isoflavone is known to reduce the prevalence of breast and prostate cancer. The USFDA in Oct.1999 approved soya for reduction of coronary heart disease. Soy isoflavones reduce menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweat, mood swings, fatigue, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, headaches, anxiety, insomnia and improve mid-life comfort and health. Red Clover Extract

Red clover is a rich natural source of isoflavones. It is a member of Leguminosae family and has 10 to 20 times the level of isoflavones than soy, the next richest source. It is one of the few plants to contain all four principal isoflavones – biochanin, formononetin, genistein and daidzein. Red clover has been used as a medicinal herb in both Oriental and European culture. Red clover leaves have the largest amount of isoflavones, compared to other plant parts.
