Silybum marianum Extract (Milk Thistle)

>Silymarin is used for toxic liver damage, supportive treatment in chronic inflammatory liver disease, cirrhosis and hepatitis. Silymarin exerts action as a antihepatotoxic drug in a number of ways.

Milk thistle or Mary thistle is indigenous to Europe. This herb belongs to Aster family and the Latin name is Silybum marianum.

Kutki extract with Apocynin

Kutki extract is an extract from the plant Picrohiza kurroa. Kutki extract is standardized to contain not less than 4% kutkin. Kutki extract shows significant ability to protect the liver against chemicals and microbes.

The hepatoprotective effects of Kutki extract are more potent than silymarin (milk thistle) in maintaining healthy liver functions.

Apocynin is a catechol present in kutki extract. Apocynin inhibits oxidative bursts in neutrophils; has powerful anti-inflammatory action; inhibits reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation by blocking an enzyme NADPH oxidase.

Phyllanthus amarus Extract

>Phyllanthus amarus directly inhibits an enzyme DNA polymerase present in the Hepatitis B virus. This action of Phyllanthus amarus prevents replication of the Hepatitis B virus and thus decreases the viral load. Helps in clearing viral load in Hepatitis virus carriers too.Phyllanthus species has been used widely for a long period in India, China, and other countries.

Piperine (Bioperine®)

Piperine is a Sabinsa patented product consisting of the powdered extract obtained from Piper nigrum. Piperine extract is standardized for a minimum of 98% of the alkaloid piperine.
Piperine is the proven and patented bioavailability enhancer.

Uses

Management of hepatic dysfunction including nausea, fatigue, anorexia (loss of appetite), taste dysfunction, vomiting, pruritis (itching) and malaise.

Also in the Management of hepatitis induced by hepatotoxins such as alcohol, drugs, microbes and virus, chemicals and pollutants.
